Time Out generates media and ecommerce revenue primarily from the sale of advertising to these brands or local businesses that seek to reach its audience of consumers and via its ecommerce platform which allows consumers to book or buy tickets.
Time Out’s platform also incorporates Time Out Market which brings together Time Out’s curation of a city’s best restaurants, food shops and culture under one roof. The first Time Out Market opened in 2014 and occupies an old fruit market hall in Lisbon, Portugal of approximately 70,000 square foot. In the first six months of 2016, the Time Out Market in Lisbon attracted 1.3 million visitors which includes a mix of locals and tourists alike.
